JINGO DE LUNCH
Founded in 1987, (because everyone knows that kids on the street, with nothing to do means trouble) our band “Jingo de Lunch” made 2 records in no time and hit the road. That’s really the best part of playing in a band: playing shows! Six releases later though, in 1996, it was enough. Each to his, or her own really, it seemed very final.
Final is a funny word, I mean; it’s the first part of Finally...? Which was what happened. Steve called me, and I came from the other side of the earth to visit. I thought we were playing a party, but it turned out to be 2 shows in White Trash Fast Food (Berlin). So the original line up (Sepp, Tom, Henning Steve & me... Yvonne) finally played again, and I tell you: It was A LOT of fun.
Personally, I saw myself jumping around screaming my head off about all the things that made me mad, and which left me doubting I was born on the right planet. I had been in Phoenix working as a Technician and life was pretty predictable. It sucked, but hey, I’m not complaining. It’s just that I have too much energy, and I’m still mad as hell about a few things, and, dammit, the issues need to be addressed.
Steve, Henning, and I decided to keep our band name, make new songs and start playing shows again. Why? Because it’s FUN. Gary Schmalzl took over for Sepp & Tom, and we made a record together. So here we are. Come join us for more than an hour or so of anger and confrontation, packed into a melody, with punk values, and a bit (lol) of metal guitar to slick it all off. > Jingo de Lunch is on tour again.
