Sahra Festival: Two years of Sahra
Sahra Festival: Two years of Sahra
Berlin’s biggest recurring SWANA club night just got bigger!
SAHRA (Sah-raa), meaning a night-out in Arabic, is the recurring party that brings all the different styles of SWANA music and its influences to the dancefloor, whether it is the beloved Arabic oldies, Shaabi sounds including Dabke and Mahraganat, or the up and coming genres of Electro-tarab, Oriental techno and Post-Shaabi. SAHRA has something for everyone. Sahra is a Berlin-based collective that has been lighting the night scene, nurturing new talents, providing a safer, more inclusive space, and making ripples among all partygoers throughout Berlin’s iconic clubbing scene. For our second anniversary, we are celebrating in style in our biggest event yet. This year, we are going all out with Sahra Festival with 10 hours of incredible live acts and DJs, featuring your returning favorites alongside rising and established stars. Two years ago we started this Journey together as Sahra to carve out a space for SWANA culture in the Berlin nightlife scene, and dismantle the dichotomy that surrounds our existence and perception in the diaspora. This is a celebration of who we are and who we can be as a community, a celebration of existence as an act of resistance. The past two years have been a surreal adventure filled with the unbelievable love and energy that manifest every time we get together. That energy is what keeps us motivated to bring you the best and nothing less! Join us in this sure-to-be unforgettable experience of the first edition of Sahra Festival! And as always, no Sahra experience is complete without the Arak, sponsored by Enab Berlin. With the kind support of Musicboard Berlin GmbH
Safety and Awareness
The Safety of our partygoers and creating an inclusive safe space is one of the core pillars of our mission. Our space is accredited by Good Night Out and our awareness team includes trained members from diverse backgrounds. They are there to make sure everyone is having a good time. By ensuring that everyone feels welcome and respected, they help maintain the diverse and vibrant atmosphere that defines Sahra. We will challenge all inappropriate behaviors including any form of discrimination, intimidation or harassment, and will try to do our best to work fairly with those affected in confidentiality. We want to emphasize that nobody is allowed to occupy a space, mind, or body that has not been mutually agreed upon. To do this, we reserve the right to let anyone in or out of the space at any time. Ticket does not guarantee the right of entry. Sahra reserves the right to reject any entry at the door. The ticket gives access to the whole festival and is not contingent on any one artist.
