Hi, I'm Alfonso from Barcelona. It's a big honour being invited by Christian to in my opinion one of the best black music clubs in Europe. I've been collecting for most of my life different styles and formats, being focused on black music on 45 mainly during the last decade. Over the years I've had the pleasure of spinning records on most of the spanish rallies and clubs. Recently I've had the pleasure of being invited as well abroad, in France (Burdeoux - 45 fantastics) and Italy (Rome - Nutslite 30 soulers & Torino - Soulful Torino basement 45) I started my first club almost ten years back. I've ran a few over the years, I currently host a monthly small club in my hometown with my mate Tof (double cookin') with an open-minded policy (you can listen black sounds from the early 50s until late 70s). Also run once or twice a year an instrumentals-only night. You can expect in my sets mainly r&b, soul and funk, with some latin sounds, mostly boogaloo, mod jazz and a touch of popcorn. Die Soulinn wurde 2006 von Kristian Auth und Christian Göbel gegründet. Seitdem öffnet die ‘AT THE SOUL INN’ jeden ersten Samstag im Monat ihre Pforten im Lido!
Allen Konventionen zum Trotz tanzen hier ‘Studis’ neben ‘Älteren Herrschaften’, ‘Touris’ neben ‘Alt-Kreuzbergern’ und ‘Soul-Nerds’.
Für Abwechslung sorgen Live Bands, Gast DJ's und Plattensammler aus der ganzen Welt. Bei der Soul Inn geht es nicht ums Hip sein – es geht um die Musik und das Tanzen! Das musikalische Spektrum reicht vom 50ies und 60ies Rhythm & Blues, Early Soul, Northern Soul bis hin zum Deep Funk und Modern Soul. Checkt unseren Youtube Channel was alles so auf die Plattenteller kommt!
Einschränkungen gibt es auf der Soulinn nicht, und so kann es sein, dass auch mal das ein oder andere Reggae- oder Ska Set gespielt wird. Nur eins ist wichtig: Es muss Soul haben und von der Original-Single kommen! CD’s, MP3’s, Laptops, Sampler und Bootlegs sucht man hier vergeblich. Auf Mixcloud könnt ihr viele Mixe von unseren Gästen und den Resident DJ's hören! Neben der musikalischen Darbietung schreit auch alles andere im Lido nach Soul. Hölzerner Tanzboden, Bilder, Projektion und Filme von Soul Künstlern runden das Bild ab. Auch ein Besuch auf unserer Facebook Seite lohnt sich! Neben unseren 'Artist & 45's Of The Week', kündigen wir dort kleinere Soul Inn Club Gigs, sowie befreundete Soul Partys an.
