‚Diese Band kann dein Leben verändern’ urteilt das NME Magazine über The Boxer Rebellion. Nach zweijähriger Abstinenz wird die Londoner Band im September 2013 wieder live in deutschen Clubs zu sehen sein. Mit dabei: die Songs des neuen, im Mai 2013 erscheinenden vierten Albums ‚Promises’. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere durchlebten die vier Musiker eine wahre Achterbahnfahrt. Kurz nach Veröffentlichung ihres Debütalbums meldete ihr Label Insolvenz an. Sie gründeten ihr eigenes Label, veröffentlichten 2009 ihr zweites Album und schafften es, als erste Band ohne Vertrag eine digital veröffentlichte Single in die Top 100 der Billboard-Charts zu bringen. Auch ihr drittes, von Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams) 2011 produziertes Album ist ein weiteres Glanzstück ihres dunklen, anspruchsvollen Songwritings. 
Auf ihrem neuen Album gehen sie nun einen Schritt weiter in Richtung digitale Aufnahmetechniken, was ‚Promises’ einen brillanten HiFi-Klang verleiht, der einen Schritt weiter geht als die mehr analogen Vorgängeralben, ohne jedoch den charakteristischen Sound der Band mit seiner hymnischen Ausdruckskraft aus dem Auge zu verlieren. Fans von The Boxer Rebellion können sich ab dem 17. September in sechs deutschen Clubs davon überzeugen, wie die neuen Songs klingen. Christof’s journey had begun…” Hailing from the Lowlands of Holland, singer songwriter Christof composes contemporary folk music from the heart. Inspired in early childhood by the classical singing of his mother and the guitarpickings of his father, Christof has spent the last number of years perfecting his trade (and his collection of stories) as a traveling troubadour across Europe and further afield. He draws his inspiration from the people he meets and the places he lives from the damp cobbled streets of Galway on Ireland’s Atlantic coast to the bustle and life of London Town. Christof plays contemporary folk music from the heart. His live performances brim with heart-felt stories of love and loss but always with a knowing charm. On this tour he will be joined by his band - Andrew Smith on guitar and double bass and Edwin Ireland on Cello to run the full gauntlet of emotions from the highs of Love's Glory to the sweet melancholy of 'Ghost of Corrib's Lady'.
