JAGUAR LOVE
THE GALVATRONS
The Galvatrons are four maverick, interstellar transformers from a future vortex where Gary Numan and Stan Bush are canonized and life is a euphoric, synthtracked montage of disco fist-pumping, 80s prom night pashes and Hollywood endings for bespectacled misfits.
Their set full of phenomenal, hook-laden singles, on-stage dynamism, and virtuosic musicianship has seen them tour the East Coast as the supporting act for homegrown heroes You Am I and Shihad as well as making now infamous Big Day Out and Meredith appearances.
The summer of 07/08 also saw The Galvatrons launch a ruthless territorial invasion on the motherland, leaving A & R and booking agent types in raptures. Indeed, the Trons’ exhilarating sci-opera will return triumphant to the UK this June/July, as the band take on the Download, Wireless, and Hyde Park festivals, as well as a series of other European shows.
Prior to that, The Galvatrons’ rapidly expanding legion of Australian followers can expect the When We Were Kids EP to drop on May 5th, whilst the release of the debut single of the same name and accompanying country-wide tour (commencing April 19th) will see the Trons’ commanding an intimidating presence in their merciless aural assault on shoe gazing mediocrity.
The Galvatrons’ retrofitted spaceship is set for take off in 2008, so stake out the front row, remove your tongue from your cheek and wrap it around the tonsils of the misogynistic quarterback’s stunning girlfriend (she thinks you’re cute, kid.) Last year The Galvatrons were from the future: this year they’re here to save the world…
